The world of association media is looking forward to one of the year’s most anticipated conferences, PAR’s RevUP, being held November 4-6 in Annapolis.
RevUP, now in its fourth year, is dedicated to boosting association revenue, and more broadly, business development. It’s produced by PAR—Professionals For Association Revenue—the six-year-old organization whose name also states its mission.
Just recently, in a June Q&A, we caught up with Sean Soth, founding president of PAR and current leadership advisory board chair. We discussed RevUP, but we didn’t do an actual preview of the event, and so, with the conference just over two months away, we thought we’d take a deeper dive into the actual program.

This year’s RevUP event, with a theme of “Taking Care Of Business,” covers three days and features more than 20 speakers in a mix of main-stage presentations and breakout sessions. Breakouts are organized into three tracks: Lead, Learn, and Earn.
The event is specifically designed for C-suite executives, non-dues revenue teams, event and membership leaders, marketers, and program innovators, according to the conference website.
“Revenue is a crucial factor in the resource engine that drives an association’s impact on those they serve,” said PAR Executive Director Jen Smith. “The RevUP Summit equips association business leaders with strategies to future-proof revenue, strengthen member value, and lead with resilience. This is the most important agenda in association business today—ensuring sustainable growth and transformative member experiences.”
The summit opens on Tuesday, November 4, starting at 11:00. First up is a pre-event—a five-hour program on the learning business—continuing education and professional development. The Tuesday program also includes two two-hour workshops.

The full-day Thursday program kicks off with a main-stage presentation from Rhonda Payne, CEO and founder of the speakers bureau and management consultancy Flock Theory. She’ll be speaking in a presentation called “Lead Like It Pays: Change Leadership is Taking Care of Business.”
She’s followed by Paul George, a facilitating consultant at Corporate Visions, a revenue-development consulting firm. George’s presentation is called “Disrupt the Status Quo: Unlocking Sales Growth with Behavioral Science.”
